Vallejo Clay Workshop is located in the pottery studio of Whitney Smith in beautiful downtown Vallejo. Whitney has been a full-time potter for over 20 years, and started her studio in Oakland, California before moving to Vallejo with her husband and cat in 2018. She opened her new studio on Marin street in March of that year.
Starting a workshop to teach students was not part of the original plan when Whitney moved to Vallejo. But so many locals asked for an opportunity to get their hands in clay that Vallejo Clay Workshop insisted in being born.
The studio is an inspirational space where groups of students can gather and create work. The studio is currently equipped with work tables, a slab roller, kilns, and all the tools needed to make functional or sculptural work.
Because space is limited, classes and workshops are small and individual attention to students is key. We will continue to add new classes, be sure to sign up for our email list so you can be the first to know!
