Develop culinary confidence with this cooking course in Ossining! Whether you're a new cook, you want to order take out less, or an adult who claims to have no cooking skills, this four-session course will set you up for success.
In this cooking course, you will learn the basics of making simple, straightforward meals that taste good and nourish.
This course is paced for beginners (or those who simply aren’t comfortable in the kitchen), so you can feel at ease no matter your skill level. Over the course of four sessions, you will gain culinary confidence while learning and practicing basic cooking techniques. Learn in a supportive environment where we encourage all of your questions and grow from our mistakes.

  • Knife skills (cursory only, we recommend our separate Knife Skills classes for a deeper dive)
What you will learn
  • Create at least four nourishing delicious meals from scratch.
  • Practiced eight basic cooking techniques.
  • Choose the proper tools and kitchen equipment for the job.
  • Apply the concepts you learned to a wide variety of ingredients and recipes.
  • Increase your confidence as a cook.
  • Build a community with other beginner and hesitant cooks.
What is culinary confidence?
1. Teaching Table’s 4-session Series focused on Culinary Basics and Simple meals for adults who are hesitant, beginners or simply claim they can’t cook
2. The mindset you will develop from participating in Teaching Table’s Culinary Confidence series
3. The ability to cook a meal without hesitation or fear
4. The belief that you are capable of feeding yourself and others.
We will meet every roughly other week on Thursdays starting September 26th. Other dates: October 10th, October 24th, and November 14th.
