Block Printing Workshop

Want to learn how to create custom stamps? Join this block printing class in Austin and you will learn how to make your own fun blocks and rubber stamps!Block printing is the process of carving a design into a rubber block, inking it up, and using it like a stamp on a surface. Your instructor will walk you through the steps of designing and carving your own block and show you how to use it in cool ways. No art experience or innate talent is necessary! In this intro to block printing class, you'll learn basic carving and printing techniques to kickstart a hobby or simply spend a day unwinding with a creative task. Regardless of your motivation, you'll be able to personalize your cards or don your walls with colorful art in no time!In this workshop, you will:

• Learn and practice how to use carving tools, in a small class with one-on-one attention as needed
• Receive two easy-to-carve blanks to create your blocks/stamps
• Practice printing on greeting cards, gift tags, and more
• Learn about different inks
• Try some fun stamping tricks
• Leave with your two stamps and your stamped items

Beginner friendly!
  You will utilize the studio's tools and supplies, to minimize ticket and environmental costs. Take home your blocks and any prints you want!
  You're welcome to bring snacks and drinks. We have plates, glasses, etc. so please no disposables. And warning: you'll probably get so into the project that you won't have any time for snacking! Come with nothing else except an open mind!
