Fix your tattered socks, sweaters, and knit textiles with a simple woven type of mending known as darning! In this sewing workshop in Seattle, Erin Eggenburg will teach you three different types of darning, and practice each technique on a provided sampler.
In this three-hour workshop you will:
  • Learn what darning is.
  • Gain insight of darning materials and how to choose materials to use for a specific darning project.
  • Create a darning sampler using three darning techniques.
Rather than donating your worn clothes or throwing them in the trash, you can give them new life with this easy mending trick! Bring your knits in need of darning, and leave with a plan for mending. Darning will be your favorite new sustainable DIY idea and will add small pops of color to your wardrobe.
