What you'll do
Keeping a nature journal is an easily accessible way to experience calm and wonder. In this journaling workshop in Seattle, you can unplug for a couple of hours and learn with an experienced naturalist, sketcher, and educator. In this class, your instructor Alma, will share their favorite materials and strategies for sketching and journaling about nature, both at home and in the field, and how to make an easy no-sew sketchbook. You’ll also take home a free, handmade, pocket-sized nature journal and mini-zine with nature journaling prompts. Your class will begin with warm-up drawing exercises to get your hands moving and creativity juices flowing. Then you’ll learn different ways to add notes, diagrams, and information alongside your nature drawings, making them into a nature journal. This class is suitable for all levels of experience! You'll find inspiration as you go! You'll be able to use your skills and prompts to keep up with your journaling practice long after class. Nature journaling is a fantastic hobby and a handy way to tap into your creativity on-the-go!Please note
- Please arrive at least 15 minutes before class begins.
- Our current COVID protocol is that anyone attending an event can email us to let us know they prefer that people wear masks up to 72 hours before the event begins. Your request is anonymous to all the other participants. Attendees will receive an email before the class to let them know if we will be requiring masks.
