What you'll do
Head to the docks for a wine tasting on the water in SoCal! This is not your typical wine tasting, as you'll enjoy a personalized tasting experience while sailing around one of California's spectacular marinas.Sip and sail provides an intimate sail on a luxury catamaran or sailboat navigated by a USCG Certified Captain. For the first hour, enjoy a Sommelier-led tasting workshop with a Matter Of Wine (MOW) Wine Educator. Then, relax and take in the scenic views.Choose from the following wine workshop themes: Tour of California, Tour of Spain, Tour of France, Tour of Europe, and Old World vs. New World. Your Educator, Murphy, will bring wines that align with your workshop theme and number of attendees. For groups of 1 - 6 persons, 4 bottles of wine will be provided. For groups of 7 - 12 persons, 5 bottles of wine will be provided.You will learn how to see, smell, and taste wine, as well as pick out the aromas and flavors in your glass. Don't worry if you're new to wine tasting, Murphy will also teach you how to determine the balance, length, intensity, and complexity of your wine, allowing you to systematically evaluate its quality.Through this unique wine tasting experience, you can learn a little more about each other through the wine you choose to bring. Five years ago, Matter Of Wine's Lead Sommelier, Murphy Perng, earned her Wine, Spirits and Education Trust Advanced Award (WSET 3 Certification). She established MOW to make fun, systematic wine education available to everyone. Since then, she has hosted Private Tasting Workshops for clients like Google, Boston Consulting Group, General Mills, Buzzfeed, and Equinox and been featured on National Geographic, The Somm Journal, and wikiHow.
