If you're an adventurer, you'll want to join this jewelry-making workshop in Seattle. This workshop is a ritual where we create a piece of fine jewelry inspired by our past travels – or upcoming adventures– and create jewelry that honors the place, the people, and the experiences that change our lives. You will learn wax ring carving to create a personalized ring that will be cast in metal.
Commemorate an expedition in the community as we channel the inspiration of our individual and collective journeys through jewelry making. Bring along a trinket from a past adventure that speaks to your wanderlust.
A GIA-certified gemologist, Hewan of Agere Treasures who supports artisanal miners of sub-Saharan Africa specifically those of Ethiopia, will join the class discussion. Seismic activities, since the ice ages, have shaped the geological formation of the region. As a result, the Ethiopian plateau is rich in sedimentary rocks that house some of the world’s finest, rarest, and most sought-after gemstones.
We will create jewelry in an environment that enlivens your excitement about traveling for all your senses. After this class, you'll have the perfect piece to wear on your next vacation or a constant reminder of the adventures had and those to come! If you're looking for experience gifts or date ideas, this unique workshop is perfect for any creative person in your life.
