Experience the beauty of traditional Japanese stitching in this Sashiko workshop in Seattle!
Sashiko is a centuries-old Japanese embroidery technique used to mend, reinforce, and decorate fabric with striking geometric patterns. In this 90-minute hands-on class, you’ll learn the history and basics of Sashiko while stitching a unique design onto a tea towel to take home.
With expert guidance, you’ll practice working with Sashiko needles and thread, mastering the rhythmic running stitch that makes this craft so meditative and versatile. Whether you’re new to sewing or an experienced stitcher, this class offers a relaxing and creative way to explore textile artistry. Plus, you’ll leave with your own Sashiko kit to continue stitching beyond the workshop!
