What you'll do
Set sail on an unforgettable wine tasting experience in SoCal! If you're looking for fun experiences in Los Angeles or Orange County, this puts a luxurious twist on your classic wine tasting. Sip and Sail events, hosted by Matter Of Wine, are a getaway on a luxury 40-foot catamaran or sailboat navigated by a USCG Certified Captain around the scenic California harbor. This event is BYOW, so you will get a surprise selection of wines! Please bring one bottle of wine to share with the group to join the fun. Your expert wine educator, Murphy, will embark on your journey alongside you to guide you through the wine tasting using your wines. Don't worry if you're a beginner wine taster, you'll be in good hands! Through an hour-long workshop you will learn how to see, smell, and taste wine, as well as pick out the aromas and flavors in your glass. Your instructor will also teach you how to determine the balance, length, intensity, and complexity of your wine, allowing you to systematically evaluate its quality.This interactive wine tasting session will allow you to get to know the rest of the group and foster an inviting and enjoyable environment. Once you're through tasting, you can pour yourself a glass of your favorite! Take it to the roof or the deck as you enjoy the views, unwind, and socialize. Five years ago, Matter Of Wine's Lead Sommelier, Murphy Perng, earned her Wine, Spirits and Education Trust Advanced Award (WSET 3 Certification).
