What you'll do

Join our unique textured art and gold leaf workshop in Round Rock, perfect for both beginners and those with some experience in art.

In this class, you will learn the process that involves applying thick layers of relief paste on the canvas, which can be modeled with spatulas, brushes, or even with your hands.

This technique, also known as impasto, allows you to add a tactile dimension to your creations, giving them a physical presence and visual depth that goes beyond traditional two-dimensional painting.

You will also learn how to apply gold leaf and the materials needed to achieve a fine, luxurious finish on the canvas.

By the end of the class, you can take home your unique artwork, ready to add some pop of color to your space!

Las nuevas obras de arte que incorporan pasta de relieve para crear texturas representan una evolución emocionante en el campo del arte contemporáneo. Esta técnica, también conocida como impasto, permite a los artistas añadir una dimensión táctil a sus creaciones, dándoles una presencia física y una profundidad visual que va más allá de la pintura tradicional en dos dimensiones.

Conocerás el proceso que implica aplicar capas gruesas de pasta de relieve sobre el lienzo, las cuales pueden ser modeladas con espátulas, pinceles o incluso con las manos.

Aprenderás cuales son todas las herramientas y los materiales utilizados en esta técnica, incluyendo pastas acrílicas, geles, masillas y arenas, que se necesitan para crear diversas texturas y efectos tridimensionales en las obras.

Aprenderás a manejar la hojilla de oro y los materiales que se necesitan para lograr finos acabados de lujo sobre las texturas y lisos del lienzo.

You don't need to bring anything, you will have all the necessary materials: canvas, paints, brushes, spatulas, pastes, gold leaf and all the necessary tools to create a three-dimensional work with textures and fine shine.

Suitable for adults, and kids (minimum 10 years old).

An adult must accompany any attending kids. The adult may observe at the class for free.

My passion for painting began more than 20 years ago when I decided to take private lessons with a renowned artist in Colombia. I learned different techniques, such as charcoal, sanguine, watercolor, acrylics, and oils. Over time, it became almost a daily necessity for me to capture on canvas and wood the human figure, still lifes, and eventually move into abstract painting. I continued my painting studies and this time I learned about mixed media, and it was here that I discovered my talent for works using different types of materials on the same piece. With mixed media, I discovered materials like gauze, seeds, pastes, sand, iron oxide, and gold leaf to create vibrant, authentic, and modern paintings.

Now I want to share all the knowledge I have acquired over the years by designing a series of workshops, where you will learn from me the necessary tools and ideal materials to create magnificent works that will be admired by your family and friends.

Dare to discover everything you have inside and take up painting as a means of expression and personal transformation, as it will allow you to externalize emotions and feelings that we sometimes cannot verbalize. Through painting, we can explore and better understand our emotions, promoting greater self-awareness and personal growth.
