Looking for a creative boost of energy? Join this ceramics workshop in Los Angeles where you can enjoy a relaxing yet productive night. Unwind with a glass of wine while getting creative in this wine and clay class!
Working with clay is an enormous creativity booster and bliss for your mental health. We will start the workshop with a micro-networking session to get to know each other. Then learn some fun facts about ceramics and get familiar with the clay.
In this workshop, you will learn the basics of handbuilding (sculpting without the wheel). This workshop encourages exploration and individual ideas, so we will not be making the same thing simultaneously. Your instructor will start by explaining the hand building techniques and then help everyone as you work on your unique creations
After deciding on the piece you want to create and picking the technique, you can get in the zone and deep focus on the craft or continue chatting and exchanging tips and ideas.
This masterclass requires no previous experience and all materials are provided. A couple of glasses of wine per person are complimentary, but feel free to BYOB. It’s a perfect date night or a girl’s night out, but is also singles-friendly.
We will finish the workshop by selecting glazes for your creations and exchanging social media in case we feel like staying connected. If you're looking to meet other creatives in your area, this workshop provides a welcoming space to learn new skills.
The venue is located in the artsy part of DTLA with a ton of fun bars and restaurants to hit after the class.
Please note
  • The event is designed for adults. Teens ages 12-17 may join if accompanied by an adult taking the same masterclass. You must be over 21 years old to consume alcohol during the class.
  • Your pieces are usually ready within four weeks, but the process can take longer depending on the firing schedule of the studio or complications during the drying/firing/glazing (especially if extra services or classes were requested). Once your works are ready for pick up, you will be notified via text and/or email.
  • Disclaimer: Pottery is a very volatile craft. Please, keep that in mind. While we take every precaution to ensure that your creations are handled with care throughout the process, it’s important to understand that imperfections and occasional breakages can occur, particularly during the firing process. By participating in this workshop, you acknowledge that our studio is not liable for any damages or breakages that may happen to your work during or after firings. Refunds cannot be provided for such occurrences, but you will be offered to remake a new piece for free or pick up a small consolation gift. Thank you for your understanding and for embracing the beautiful unpredictability of handmade ceramics.

What you'll get
  • Your ready-to-use ceramic pieces will be ready four weeks after the class. Your instructor will fire them for you in a professional pottery studio, glaze them, fire them again, and prepare them for pick up. If you don't live in Los Angeles, shipping can be arranged for an additional fee.
  • You can keep one piece for yourself and gift the second piece to your loved ones. There’s nothing like the feeling of using something you made with your own hands. Trust me, this is about to be the favorite mug, plate, bowl, or planter.

Hi, my name is Ana. I opened my small creative studio to teach handbuilding pottery workshops and share my love of clay with others.
I now have many more classes in the works: mosaics, jewelry, epoxy pouring, etc. Art hobbies like this feed both your brain and soul, so I think everyone show carve out some time to get crafty.
Hope to see you in one of the classes!
