Roll cakes are a classic and delicious dessert, and now you can learn to make them on your own for a sweet treat whenever you desire. In this baking class in San Francisco, Chef Richard will work individually with each student so you can learn how to make a roll cake!
This cake is filled with berries and lightly sweetened and stabilized whipped cream. Deceptively light and not too sweet, this cake is as fluffy and moist as they come!
Don't worry if you're not an expert baker, this class is beginner-friendly! Your chef will cover measuring and mixing ingredients, whipping egg whites, folding batters, and all the tips and tricks used to create this (chiffon method) cake. While the cakes are baking and cooling, you will make Chef Richard's favorite stabilized whipped cream recipe, prep the berries, fill, and smoothly roll the cake.
This is an exceptional cake perfect for any celebration and could easily be paired with other fruits and fillings to suit your taste. Soon you'll be showing up to parties and potlucks with your famous roll cake in hand as a go-to dessert!
Knowledge required
If you have basic kitchen skills, i.e. can crack a few eggs, you will have great success in this class. Please kindly note our classes are for adults only.
 
What you'll get
All materials supplied. A full-size completed roll cake with recipes and handouts. Bakery boxes and serving boards to take your cake home are provided. You will sample the chef's cake at the end of class.
