Hiya! I’m Caty Monahon (they) — Caty, Cath, Mx. Frizzle — an artist and audio storyteller with a passion for continuous learning, mindfulness and musicals. I’ve been captivated by clay in motion since I was 13; I turned my garage into a clay classroom in 2022 after leaving a remote office job.I specialize in beginner pottery and mixed media classes; my studio values are accessibility, relaxation, celebration, curiosity and transformation. I've been throwing on the wheel and working with clay for nearly two decades and I love getting newbies on the wheel! In addition to teaching art classes in Oakland and producing my own audio-themed art, I also create and host Material Feels, a monthly podcast that explores the intimate relationship between creatives and the materials they fall in love with.
