When I was a teenager growing up at the beach surrounded by Victorian homes, I started drawing pen and ink watercolors. Then I knocked on the door of the house I’d just painted and asked “would you like to buy a house portrait?“ That began the thrill of making money with something I loved doing.
After graduating from Massachusetts College of Art l moved to Los Angeles. The lush landscapes and eclectic architecture inspired me to capture it. I had an article in the Downtown News. This is how I made a name for myself, painting the landmarks. I painted six historic theaters on Broadway LA with an awarded grant.
It was so exhilarating to paint on location that I started teaching to share my love of en plein air painting. Since then I’ve been teaching people of all ages art. The After School Art program that I produced at Mar Vista Elementary, was so popular that I raised money through Kickstarter to get a Studio.
Hundreds of students have been taught by me the foundations of Fine Art, drawing, design, color, composition, and painting.
I taught regularly at SOHO House Malibu & West Hollywood. Currently I’m at Virginia Robinson‘s Gardens, Beverly Hills teaching Botanical watercolors. I’m a traveling Art Teacher available for corporate events, team building, family, gatherings, painting parties and private classes.
