Sink your hands into some clay and create something unique in this ceramics class in Seattle! This creative class is the perfect opportunity to take a break and explore your creativity.
In this handbuilding workshop, you will explore how to build tiny fantastical creatures and then apply them to a plate or tray. Your instructor will walk you through the steps to make a basic tiny creature body form, and suggest ways to create your own unique creatures. Your instructor provides templates for various tray shapes and will demonstrate how to refine and add texture to create a simple handbuilt tray.
If you're looking for experience gift ideas or creative date ideas, you can discover a new hobby or simply treat someone to a creative learning day with this workshop.
The studio will dry, fire, and glaze your creation for you. Once finished, your instructor will reach out to you to pick up your finalized creation, or they can ship your piece to you for an additional charge. Please allow up to four weeks for your piece to be ready.

Reclaim Clay Collective (RECC) is the first POC, queer, women-owned art studio located in the thriving cultural heart of Seattle’s Chinatown International district. Founders Siera Matsuo and Luanne Wilson left their biology careers to pursue pottery, and made it their mission to nurture an intentional artistic community that helps make art accessible to underserved communities. We prioritize creating a safe space for our QT and BIPOC community and will not tolerate hate in our space.
RECC offers short-term classes designed to help you explore a new creative hobby or long term interest. As art enthusiasts ourselves, we host classes on various mixed media interests to help further expand your art practice and intrigue. We offer group classes and workshops on the potter’s wheel, handbuilding, Risography printmaking, and more.
In addition to classes and workshops, our studio offers membership access for those who want to continue their creative journey and expand their self-exploration.
We welcome you to join our community!
