Join us for a fun and engaging paint party workshop where you will learn step-by-step how to create a painting! In this Chicago art class, we guide you through the process of painting in acrylic utilizing simple, fun, and supportive language and basic painting techniques.
Prior to the workshop, we will choose a theme or topic for the painting tailored to the group's needs. Your instructor will guide you through a painting project utilizing simple techniques such as washes, blending two colors, creating perspective, and adding texture. You may follow the instructor's example or interpret the painting in your own way with color and shape variety.
All materials including paints, brushes, and a canvas will be provided. This workshop is suitable for beginners and experienced painters alike. The emphasis is on having fun and exploring the joy of painting in a supportive and encouraging environment.

Hi my name is Molly Cranch and I am an artist, author-illustrator and arts educator based in Chicago, Illinois.
I have taught students ranging from age 3 to adulthood in a wide variety of settings including public and private schools, online and in art museums and art centers. I have taught a wide range of art media, however I love to teach 2D materials such as drawing, painting, collage, and bookmaking.
