I’m Sophia, the founder of Wick2Whispers, a business dedicated to crafting handmade candles that promote relaxation and self-connection. My journey into candle-making began as a therapeutic outlet during a stressful time. I found that selecting scents, designing candles, and seeing the final product calmed my mind and brought joy to others who used them. This realization sparked my passion for using my craft to help others find their moments of peace and mindfulness.

Teaching has always been close to my heart. I had the privilege of teaching Sunday school for three years, where I learned how fulfilling it is to share knowledge and see others grow. This experience taught me how to connect with people, adapt to different learning styles, and foster a welcoming environment—skills I now bring to my candle-making workshops. I love teaching because it’s not just about the craft itself; it’s about inspiring confidence and creativity in others.

Something unique about my candle-making is the emphasis on storytelling and connection. Each candle I create has a meaning and a purpose. For example, one of my candles, 'The Gatekeeper, ' symbolizes protection and resilience, while 'Lavender Whisper' is designed to evoke calmness and clarity. I’m also proud that one of my creations was recently featured on NBCB News, a huge milestone for me and my business.

In addition to being a business owner, I’m a psychology student at SNHU. This background deepens my understanding of how scents and sensory experiences can impact mood and well-being, which I incorporate into my workshops. I aim to create a product and an experience that helps people reconnect with themselves.

With several years of experience running my business and teaching others, I’ve had the opportunity to work with various students, from beginners to seasoned crafters. My workshops aren’t just about making candles; they’re about building connections, sparking creativity, and finding moments of mindfulness in our busy lives.
