Encompassing a melting pot of cultures from West African to French all mixed together and served in a steaming bowl, gumbo is a versatile meal that can be created using a wide selection of ingredients.
In this class, you will create a classic chicken and sausage gumbo served over rice. Learn the basics of making a roux, which is flour browned in butter used to thicken the gumbo. The remaining process is all about carefully cooking and incorporating the individual ingredients for maximum flavor and taste!
At the end of this virtual experience, you'll get the chance to taste test your magnificent meal before heading off with your new skills and a passion for Louisiana-style cooking.
