What you'll do
Yearning to pick up a pen and/or ballpoint pen, but have found yourself a little intimidated by the fact that it doesn’t erase? Then this is the course for you!In this eight week course, you'll learn the basics of drawing, demonstrate a variety of pen techniques, and be encouraged to make your creative experience smoother. You will mainly learn how to draw with technical pens, ballpoint pens, and brush pens, but dip pens or fountain pens are welcome as well. Learn how to observe and draw textures, strengthen your understanding of form, and discover how to create tonal values through mark making while drawing nature’s forms. By the end of the course, you'll be able to create a first pen masterpiece in a sketchbook and/or on individual sheets of paper!Learning outcomes:
- Understanding and shading basic forms
- Techniques: stippling, hatching, cross-hatching, other mark making
- Using different pens to achieve varied results
- Learning to choose the appropriate technique for the chosen reference
