Work in harmony with the seasons by learning the best way to utilize your farmer's market! In this engaging and inspirational market tour and culinary class, you will make delicious dishes using seasonal produce procured fresh from the farmer's market.
This incredible NYC experience begins at the Union Square Greenmarket, where your group will tour the wonderful stalls to pick up some delicious seasonal ingredients. You can then head back to our kitchen in SoHo, Manhattan, or your home kitchen to start cooking up a storm with your new bounty. It's an ideal team bonding activity for colleagues, family, friends, and more!
Guided by a friendly and talented chef, you will gain invaluable insight on the best seasonal produce to buy, as well as learn cooking skills. There are so many amazing things about this workshop, from spending time with your loved ones and eating incredible handmade dinners. The best part is that you are also supporting local farmers and artisans by shopping small and local.
Your menu will depend on what is at the market but can include mouthwatering meals such as ricotta gnocchi, vegetable ragout, roasted veggie salads, spiced fruit crisps, Creme Anglaise, breads, and cheeses.

Home Cooking New York was founded in May 2002 by founder Jennifer Clair. After years of writing cookbooks, recipes, and food editorials, the opportunity to come together with eager culinary students in a kitchen classroom seemed like the next logical step. Back then, Jennifer was the sole chef-instructor, teaching nightly private cooking classes in students’ home kitchens all over New York City. Over the last 17 years, the company has grown to include five outstanding chef-instructors!
We have our own cooking school in Manhatten, SoHo where we love to share our passion for good food with fellow home cooks! Or, our amazing chefs can come to your home to help you cook up a wonderful feast. You can also find our incredible classes in a virtual experience.
