Please note: Riding the horses is only available to committed students of the S.T.E.E.D program, these horses take years to train to our specific system and requirements, and only minutes to un-train or mis-train; as such they can be considered a hazard for new or beginner riders. In light of this fact, we have a Sophisticated Training Horse on a guided track that all students and beginners practice all core historical skills (archery, swordsmanship, jousting, etc.) on first before riding our four-legged friends here at S.T.E.E.D.

Salutations!
Our names are Dr. Patricia Summers & Mark Summers,
The Equiversity S.T.E.E.D. program was born from a shared dedication to mental health, military service, and equestrian training. As a military family and clinical psychology professionals, we’ve seen firsthand the lasting impact of trauma—how veterans return home carrying invisible wounds that affect not only themselves but also their families and communities.
With a combined 75+ years of professional equestrian experience, myself having a background in clinical psychology, alongside our co-founder, Dr. Patricia Mojdara Summers, a gold medalist in dressage, international trainer and fellow psychologist whose husband served for 33 years as a Army M.D, recognized the transformative power of the equine-human connection.
BUT we wanted to take it further...
We reimagined traditional equine interaction by integrating medieval training disciplines—swordsmanship, archery, horsemanship, and structured skill-building exercises—what we call “Getting Back to Basics” or our “Intro to Knight Training.” What began as a veteran-focused initiative evolved into an immersive experience for youth, teens, adults, and groups of all walks of life. Offering an engaging way to develop interpersonal skills, discipline, and resilience—all under the guise of having fun. And it is fun—but more importantly, it’s a structured method for helping individuals build character, confidence, and meaningful connections.
At its core, S.T.E.E.D. is about more than just training—it’s about transformation. We believe that a good life starts with becoming a good person—and that means learning, practicing, and applying the techniques that foster growth, leadership, and personal excellence. Through this program, participants gain practical skills, forge lasting friendships, build strong bonds, and create lifelong memories—while learning to live better in the process.
Adults, Couples, Teens, and Groups welcome!
