Welcome chocolate enthusiasts, candy lovers, and everyone with a sweet tooth! Join me, Chef Andrea Young, a New York-trained vegan chef, and together we will make from scratch my Strawberry Sensation Chocolates!
As a chef, I like to share the joys of vegan chocolate-making made easy via our virtual class together. We will go step by step so you can easily follow along with our recipe!
What we'll cover in class:
  • How to make a ganache
  • Tempering made easy and how to dip chocolate
  • Toppings and display suggestions/gift-giving
As students start to join, we will chat for a bit to get to know each other! I will share my story of Sweet Vegan and we will engage in fun chocolate trivia during class, with plenty of time for questions and answers.
This is the perfect experience for virtual birthdays, remote team building activities, and anyone who just loves chocolate! Or give an experience gift that's unique and hands-on.
You will end class with the recipe and knowledge to make your own chocolates for your friends and family!
Please note that you will be rescheduled if there are less than 4 participants in your class.

What to bring
Ganache Ingredients:
  • 3/4 cup dark vegan chocolate, chopped
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened rice milk
  • 2 teaspoons organic coconut sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon coconut oil
  • 1/8 teaspoon fine sea salt
Tempering/Dipping Chocolate:
  • 3/4 cup dark vegan chocolate, chopped
  • 12 medium organic washed strawberries with leaves
  • 1/2 cup chocolate (used as seed chocolate in the cooling down process)

An adult must accompany any attending kids. The adult may observe at the class for free.

Sweet Vegan grew out of my love of creating healthy and delicious treats for people I care about. Although for most of my life I couldn’t imagine running my own food company, my journey to doing so began in an Indiana kitchen, learning to cook and bake from my maternal grandmother, Georgia.
When I was six, my parents separated and my mother, a schoolteacher, was left to raise five children on her own. As the eldest daughter, I became responsible for a lot of the cooking for the family. My love of making desserts and especially lovely, decorated cakes flourished under my grandmother’s example and instruction.
That same passion for the aesthetic of cake decorating fueled my interest in design. This led me from Indianapolis to Parsons School of Design in New York City and on to a successful career as an interior designer.
Many years later, while visiting New York City, my mother took a tumble and became my long-term houseguest. To aid in her healing, I hired a personal chef to prepare vegan meals.
Working alongside the chef in my own kitchen brought me right back to those wonderful, youthful days cooking with Grandma Georgia. It wasn’t long after my mother returned to her home in Florida that I decided to enroll in The Natural Kitchen Cooking School. In 2008, my proud mother returned to NYC to celebrate my graduation.
While all my chocolates are vegan, nut-free, dairy-free, and gluten-free, they’re not just for vegans or those with food allergies.
I’ve dedicated myself to creating great tasting chocolates. I eliminate everything that gets in the way of experiencing the true flavor of chocolate and combine real fruit and fresh ingredients. Sweet Vegan chocolates are for anyone who really loves chocolate.
