Step into the heart of Palestinian culture as you learn to bake cookies in this Brooklyn mommy-and-me workshop. Celebrate the joy of Eid and the beauty of Middle Eastern traditions with your little one in this hands-on maamoul-making Class.
Designed for one parent and one child (you may bring additional children at an extra cost), this unique experience blends cultural connection, creativity, and family bonding.
What We'll Do:
  • Mix the Spices and Dates: Prepare the aromatic date filling, infused with warm, traditional spices that make maamoul irresistible.
  • Shape the Cookies: Learn how to roll, stuff, and shape the soft, flour-based dough using authentic molds and tongs to craft intricate, traditional designs.
  • Bake to Perfection: Follow guided steps to bake your cookies to golden perfection.
  • Eid Spirit Activities: Immerse yourselves in the festive spirit with a heartfelt story and a fun craft activity that brings the celebration to life.
Maamoul cookies are much more than a dessert; they are a symbol of celebration, history, and heritage. These beloved treats hold deep significance in Palestinian culture, where they are prepared during holidays such as Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, as well as Easter and Christmas.
Our flour-based dough is tender, easy to work with, and perfect for beginners and seasoned bakers alike. This experience is not just about baking—it's about bonding, learning, and celebrating a tradition that has been cherished for centuries.
The art of making maamoul is often a family affair, passed down through generations. Some of your instructor's fondest childhood memories involve making maamoul with their mom and grandmother, where every step—from mixing the spices to pressing the dough into molds—was an act of connection and love.
Share this tradition with you and your child, offering a chance to create not just delicious cookies but also cherished memories together.
Please note
Each ticket includes admission for one parent and one child (ages 5+). If you'd like to bring an additional child, there will be a $50 extra fee.
