What you'll do
In this creative, meditative class, you'll explore the art of Suminagashi and create one-of-a-kind marbled papers.Suminagashi is known as the art of Japanese paper marbling and is truly awe-inspiring and mesmerizing to watch. It starts with floating colorful ink on the surface of the water. From there, you'll swirl the ink around and lay paper down to make prints.Guided by your teacher, you'll learn about the history of this process, be led through a demonstration, and then the rest of the time is yours to create your collection of marbled papers.Relax, unwind, and slow down your busy mind as you meditate on color and flow with the soothing process of this paper marbling process. By the end of the class, you can take home a collection of hand-marbled papers, ready to display proudly in your living space.
