9 years ago, while teaching elementary art, I started my journey as a cookie decorator because I wanted to make cute cookies for my son’s class. I am creative and artsy and thought it sounded like fun. After many failed attempts to learn on my own, I decided to take my first online class. I was hooked! Cookie decorating became an escape from the challenges of parenting a child with a learning disability and a fun way for me to be creative. I continued to practice and improve my skills, and in 2021 a Food Network talent scout found me on Instagram. I was invited to be on the 2022 season of the Food Network Christmas Cookie Challenge.In the spring of 2022, I decided to use my cookie design, decorating, and teaching skills to start a subscription box called The Cheerful Box.
