If you're looking to enhance your team's voice and storytelling, this corporate workshop in the heart of NYC is just what they need to feel empowered. You'll walk away with new skills to bring into the workplace, as well as in your everyday life.

This workshop covers two important skills: voice and storytelling. No experience is required, simply come with an open mind and a readiness to learn!

Voice: Drawing on a variety of modalities such as Linklater Vocal Technique, Roy Hart Voice Work, and Skinner Speech Work, this section will guide you through a series of exercises that will allow you to speak with more strength, freedom, clarity, and ease. The participants will learn what gets in the way of their communication, and how awareness of their body and breath can help tame the “fight, flight, or freeze” response, making them more skilled and effective communicators. The workshop will also explore and harness various resonators and articulators. Through this gradual series, participants will not only learn how to speak with ease, but they will also address self-limiting beliefs that obstruct them from their full vocal potential.

Storytelling: In this section, you will be introduced to The Barrow Group’s proven communication and performance tools — designed to captivate and engage your audience effectively. You’ll learn how to tell stories that amplify your impact and enhance clarity. We’ll begin with story structure, ensuring a deep understanding of how to craft a compelling story. Then, a few participants will get live coaching on a 2-3 minute story or pitch.

At The Barrow Group, we believe in the power of storytelling, play, improv, and spontaneity. However, with the pressures of day-to-day life, finding the time to slow down and exercise these creative muscles is near impossible. That's where we come in.

Our co-founders Seth and Lee created The Barrow Group in 1986. We are an award-winning theatre company and training center located in the heart of New York City. Our artistic programs consist of producing an annual Mainstage Season, a Developmental program that cultivates original stories and the artists who tell them, and a Training Center that supports thousands of artists from a wide range of backgrounds, identities, and experience levels a year. We strive to offer the most accessible programs possible, keeping our prices low and offering a robust diversity scholarship program for underserved artists. Notable alumni of TBG’s training program include Academy Award winner Anne Hathaway, three-time Emmy winner Jennifer Landon, and Emmy winner Tony Hale.

Throughout the years, we have also lent our expertise to companies, organizations, and schools, so that more people have access to this training and that is what we are offering you today.

Our mission with these offerings is to give groups expert training in storytelling, improv, and vocal production. These skills can be applied to presentations, sales, difficult work conversations, and more. Our main teachers also coach Netflix and Broadway stars.
