Think you can go with the flow? Then this Japanese ink marbling workshop would make the ideal activity if you're looking for chill art classes in NYC.
Learn Suminagashi, a traditional Japanese paper marbling technique, with an expert who will take you through this meditative process. Your teacher comes to you with all the supplies and will teach you how to use a special Sumi ink and rice paper to make beautiful floating patterns. You'll create a work of art on paper and on wooden coasters, so you'll get plenty of chances to make unique pieces.
You'll also learn more about the history of this unique artform and the traditions behind it. This is a restorative way to learn art so you'll feel reflective and relaxed as you watch your ink swirl and form patterns on the paper.
Plan team building activities around this hands-on practice or get your crafty friends together for some art and self care. When your class is over, you'll have gorgeous art pieces to show off at home!

Meet Aimee, a Filipina-American entrepreneur, and her multicultural team at Kits by Food Craft.
The company was launched on February 2020 to host social corporate team events. Due to the pandemic, Aimee pivoted the business to DIY kits and eventually hosted virtual events to support remote teams across the world.
As a small and newly launched business, the pandemic was a turning point. But the team adapted, persevered, and as of January 2023, they fulfilled over 20, 000+ kits and hosted 900+ virtual events. This is our pandemic story, and we are grateful for the overwhelming support.
The events and what makes it unique: Inspired by the rich diversity of New York City and her multicultural team, Aimee curated workshops centered on promoting cultural appreciation through food, drink, and craft workshops.
Through sushi rolling, we give you a sneak peek of Japan's culture! The same goes with our Chai making, it's an intro to the land of spice, India.
Hope you can give us a chance to share a unique experience with your friends, family, and team!
Our mission is to create joy and connection through shared experiences.
