In this story:
Food Craft NY founder Aimee Moslares-Aguirre discovered a way to foster joy and connection with a creative take on happy hour. She swapped alcohol for vibrant craft boxes packed to the brim with DIY materials and served with a side of energetic hosts, music, and trivia.
Since the success of her first team-building sushi class in NYC, Aimee has discovered a passion for sharing culture through fun foodie experiences and art classes. She finds inspiration for her curated in-person and virtual workshops in her multi-cultural team and vibrant community.
If you're looking for a team activity that exudes positivity or an alternative to cocktail hour, book a workshop with Food Craft NY for your next group event.
I’m on a mission to…
“Create joy and connection through shared experiences. But recently, with an ADHD diagnosis, I found a new mission for Food Craft and that is to bring in experiences that cater to mental health! It makes sense, I've always been attracted to workshops that are quick and easy. Something that is relaxing, not overwhelming like the suminagashi.”
Two classes you need to try…
“I love suminagashi because of the mindfulness aspect of this art and bubble tea. Most of the people that I know love bubble tea and it's so amazing to see everyone learn how to make their own, without realizing how easy it is!”
You can expect high-energy experiences...
“We always have two team members in our virtual events, the instructor and host. It's crucial for us to pump up the energy. We would typically play music and have some slides to cue them on what to gather followed by some fun trivia slides.”
You should try workshops for team building…
“For corporate teams, I recommend taking a workshop because it takes away the pressure of small talk during corporate events. You get to enjoy an activity and learn about yourself and your team in an organic way.”
Cooking is a mood-booster…
“Sure you can host a typical team-building event but food always brings out positive energy. It also gives your participants something to look forward to… For non-corporate teams, I think it's just a great way to connect with different cultures or maybe your own.”
Don't be afraid to make mistakes…
“When you remove fear and insecurity from the equation, you get to enjoy and embrace your own creativity.”
